When we’re not guiding tenants to their perfect new rental property in Wimbledon and Battersea or valuing houses and apartments for rent, we’re planning personal gifts for clients who have earned a special ‘thank you’.
Flowers and chocs are all very well but it’s always been our aim to give original, personalised gifts that really convey our appreciation. After a long search we were delighted to discover Truly Bespoke, a company that creates luxurious hampers with contents specially tailored to the recipient's tastes.
These hampers have been so well received that we were curious to know how Truly Bespoke manages to find perfect, personalised gifts for complete strangers. That’s why we asked Executive Director Jil Fattal to share some of her secrets with us.
Q: What are the key things you need to know about a person before you can design a hamper for them?
A: We work to our clients’ brief and budget and also have specific questions that we like to ask about the person receiving the gift hamper. There is nothing more special than receiving a gift that was created especially for you and some basic but key information can tell us a lot about a person's loves and likes and specific tastes.
Q: How do you find new and interesting items to include?
A: We aren't tied to specific brands, which is an element we absolutely love as it gives us bespoke creativity to work within each client’s brief. We do, however, try to build great relationships with the brands that supply us. All of our hampers are unique to the person receiving them, so every hamper order is completely different to the next.
Q: What’s the most unusual item you’ve ever included in a hamper?
A: The most unusual hamper we ever did was in response to a request for a racy bachelor hamper!
Q: How quickly can you turn a hamper around?
A: We like to have at least a week, as this allows us to go all-out on personalisation: receiving items with your initials or a special date hand engraved on them makes it that little bit more special. We can also handle more urgent orders. We have turned around hampers in as little as 8 hours for a shooting weekend. Anything is possible!
Q: What would you put in your own hamper if you designed one for yourself?
A: I would definitely include items for the home inside my hamper. Something like a gorgeous cashmere throw, monogrammed with my husband’s and my initials. I would also include a silk eye mask from Olivia von Halle with my name on it and maybe an engraved, olive wood chopping board for the kitchen. Finally, you can never go wrong with a beautiful scented candle from Diptyque.
Whether we’re thanking a long-established client or rewarding colleagues who introduce us to a new landlord, we’re confident that our giftees will be surprised and delighted by the goodies they find inside their Truly Bespoke hampers. Oh … and we know it’s only April, but we’ve already written to Santa to request our own personal gift hampers for Christmas!
